Expert Voices: Our three NAVIGATOR expert groups
NAVIGATOR builds on the expertise of a strong, global and interdisciplinary team of researchers to identify how best the EU may navigate a fragmented global governance and pursue its policy objectives in six key policy fields (climate change, digital, tax/finance, health, security and migration).
To reinforce the accuracy and relevance of the analysis carried out, and to ensure a broader dissemination of its recommendations, the project also relies on a close cooperation with three strategic expert groups. Jointly coordinated by the ULB, GMF and ECFR, these three groups are divided in accordance with the governance arrangement preferred: “universal membership multilateral institutions”, “mini-lateral international governance clubs”, and “public-private regulatory arrangements”.
Each expert group is to function as a high-level knowledge co-creation spaces involving researchers, citizens, policymakers, and activists working together to discuss the key challenges associated with the evolving global governance system, and identify possible avenues for advancing the EU’s foreign policy objectives.
External experts play a pivotal role in this mission, and have three responsibilities, namely:
- Meeting between two and four times – with two of the reunions in Brussels and in Berlin already confirmed;
- Sharing their knowledge and comments on the project’s written material;
- Participating in a forecasting exercise.
41 experts from all over the world have joined the project. Click here to check the full list: Final list of experts – NAVIGATOR 29.02.24
