Piki Ish-Shalom is A. Ephraim and Shirley Diamond Family Chair in International Relations in the Department of International Relations at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, which he formerly chaired. Dr. Ish-Shalom is interested in issues of ethics and international relations, academia and responsibility, and the political roles of concepts. He is the author of “Beyond the Veil of Knowledge: Triangulating Security, Democracy, and Academic Scholarship” (Ann Arbor, MI: University of Michigan Press, 2019), and “Democratic Peace: A Political Biography” (Ann Arbor, MI: University of Michigan Press, 2013). He is also the editor of “Concepts at Work: On the Linguistic Infrastructure of World Politics” (Ann Arbor, MI: University of Michigan Press, 2021), and co-editor of “Cognitive Evolution and World Ordering: Opening New Vistas (New York: Cambridge University Press, 2021).
