Kristin Haugevik is Senior Research Fellow at NUPI – the Norwegian Institute of International Affairs in Oslo, Norway. She holds a PhD in political science from the University of Oslo (2014). An International Relations scholar, Haugevik’s research revolves around international diplomacy, inter-state cooperation and friendship with a geographical focus on the Euro-Atlantic region and the foreign policies of Britain and the Nordic states. Her work has appeared in, inter alia, European Journal of International Relations, Cooperation and Conflict, The Hague Journal of Diplomacy, Journal of European Integration, Politics and Governance and Global Affairs. She is also the author of Special Relationships in World Politics: Inter-State Friendship and Diplomacy After the Second World War (Routledge, 2018). As of June 2023, Haugevik is Editor in Chief for the academic journal Cooperation and Conflict (with Benjamin de Carvalho).
